Migration control
- A migration card is issued to all foreign citizens when entering the Russian Federation. It confirms the legality of foreign citizens’ stay in the country.
- If a foreign citizen arrives by air, the migration card form is issued and must be filled in. To avoid queues at the migration control it is highly recommended to fill in the card in advance on board. The information in the card should be readable and clear without any mistakes and corrections and be written in blue, black or violet ink. A migration card must be filled in using Latin letters in accordance with the citizen’s passport data.
- The completed migration card form is presented along with other documents such as passport or other ID and tickets during passport control
- If your migration card is lost or spoiled during the stay in the Russian Federation it is highly recommended to inform the territorial Department of the Directorate of the Federal Migration Service of Russia about it as soon as possible, but no later than three days from the moment of the loss or spoilage of the card.
